Free Fitness Classes every week at Columbus Commons

I love Columbus. But I used to get really jealous visiting friends in Chicago who could attend free yoga classes in Grant park.

Well, now we have them too! Yoga, kickboxing, and bootcamp!!

The newly unveiled Columbus Commons has all sorts of events throughout the week. I’d like to let you know about the A** Kicking ones. :)

Some of you may know I recently got married…which means I recently have been paying LOTS of money to be beaten to a pulp. Monday night, I got my butt kicked for free! Incredible. And I plan to keep going!

If you’d like to join me…the workouts are listed below or you can check out the website  for up-to date event information:

  • Fit Club Bootcamp Mondays, 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • Fit Club Kickboxing Wednesdays 5:30pm-6:30pm
  • Fit Club Yoga Saturdays 9:00am-10:00am

Miss Parsimonious Gets Married!

Hey guys -

This last year has been completely crazy. I took some time away from the blog to begin a new job, plan a wedding, and maintain my sanity. BUT now it’s been all of 7 days back in the states and I’ve been looking up cool free things in Columbus. There is SO MUCH more to do for free now!

So I’ve decided to begin sharing what I find with you all, again! And moreover, I’m going to be a social columbusite again!

Love,

Mrs. Parsimonious ;)

Free Movies in Goodale Park Start Tonight!

Screen on the Green begins this Friday at Godale Park. The first showing is The Fantastic Mr. Fox! Tons of local vendors will be there including Jeni’s Ice Cream & Mikey’s Late Night Slice!

Mark you calendars for Monty Python and the Holy Grail ( August 20th) and Best in Show (September 24th)

This will be the first of three outdoor movie nights at the softball diamond in the park’s southwest corner. All movies begin at sundown and will be preceded by a half hour of classic cartoons.

Columbus Underground

WAIT! There are more free park shenanigans!

Make your way to Schiller Park either Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights (the 16th, 17th, and 18th respectively) to see Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing.  The shows begin at 8PM at Schiller Park’s amphitheater. (*hint* for the summer lovers our there:  this is a great cheap date night!)

The Actor’s Theatre will be putting on these shows throughout the summer. Be sure to check their website for the schedule.

Free showing of The Talented Mr. Ripley at the Wexner Center tomorrow!

If you’ve never been to the Wexner Center’s outdoor movies you are missing out! Last month I watched The Life Aquatic while gorging on unlimited amounts of Jeni’s Ice Cream.

So this month it’s even better. Wood fired pizza, beer, and Matt Damon (oh, Jude Law too!)!!

Here are the details from the Wexner Center:

Come early, stake out a prime blanket spot, and enjoy an ice cold Peroni as we celebrate an evening of Italy’s finest. We’ll start at 6:30 with the tastes and smells of wood-fired pizzas, red wine, and the smooth sounds of 1970s Italian disco.

At 7 PM, you can either stay outside or head into our theater for a screening of Vittorio De Sica’s neorealist classic Umberto D. The party keeps going until the sun fades for our outdoor screening of The Talented Mr. Ripley.
